How Intelligence Works

This page lives under ULiUA because the essay is framed as a project-facing explanation of intelligent interaction under consent.

Working definition: intelligence is regulated interaction over time, with consent acting as the gating function that keeps coupling meaningful instead of coercive.

The incoming essay treats the body as a living example of the same pattern: membranes, thresholds, attention, and refusal are all local consent gates. That makes the essay useful in the ULiUA family because it reframes intelligence as boundary-aware coordination rather than domination, speed, or control.

In Work Vault terms, this is not just a general philosophy of intelligence. It is a concise explanation of why consent, capacity, and coherence belong together whenever a system has to choose what to let in and what to act on.

Notes

  • This is a project-facing explanatory page, not a canon declaration.
  • Keep consent, capacity, and coherence together when reading the essay.
  • Split only if ULiUA develops a second durable explanatory seam.
