Telic Fields G.6 — Capacity, Complexity, and Requisite Variety Review
Parent lineage: The Telic Field Papers
Source artifacts
- G.6 capacity, complexity, and requisite-variety review
- F.5/G.6 capacity comparison and boundary matrix
- F.5/G.6 candidate context-carrying-capacity profile
- Complete F.5/G.6 intake package
The complete package passed its internal SHA-256 manifest before intake. The ZIP hash is 8a1a973b5eb3289034c346c83e3fa471c1c7f215992ef7b58459fde1952c23af.
Working finding
G.6 grounds context carrying capacity beside Ashby’s requisite variety and the good-regulator theorem, bounded rationality, working memory, cognitive load, information bottleneck theory, distributed cognition, common ground, organizational information processing, sensemaking, long-context language-model evaluation, retrieval, compression, and graceful degradation.
The review identifies the candidate addition as standing-aware capacity: preservation of relevant plurality, authority, privacy, provenance, uncertainty, correction, and stop conditions. It requires these additions to remain empirically distinguishable from neighboring concepts rather than treating context carrying capacity as a renamed total-capacity score.
G.6 remains a research and claim-boundary artifact. The capacity profile is not a universal intelligence score, human-worth ranking, automatic discrimination mechanism, justification for total context collection, or replacement for domain-specific assessment.
Roadmap transition
G.6 is complete as a working review package. F.6/G.7 are now installed, followed by the already-installed F.7/G.8 pair. The temporal review sequence is now locally represented before advancing to G.9/F.8.
