Core concepts

| Term | Status | Frozen definition or rule | |---|---|---| | telos | FROZEN | An end-relative orientation or condition that makes possible states non-equivalent for a center. Do not equate with attractor, metric, reward, or universal purpose. | | telic field | FROZEN | The local, changing structure in which possible states matter differently to a center of standing, including goals, boundaries, protected conditions, avoided states, costs, uncertainty, and possible routes. Not a physical field. | | teleological field | QUALIFIED | Explanatory or essay-language synonym for telic field. Prefer telic field in technical prose. | | center of standing | FROZEN | A person, community, role, institution, or affected center whose conditions or consequences must remain represented for the action at issue. The standing type must be qualified where ambiguity matters. | | standing | QUALIFIED | Default: constitutional representation requirement. Use legal standing, operational standing, temporal standing, or internal representational standing where applicable. | | constitutional standing | FROZEN | Requirement that a materially affected center or protected condition remain represented before a loop legitimately acts. | | operational standing | FROZEN | Recognized capacity of a role, institution, relational field, or continuing loop to participate in governance. Does not imply moral personhood. | | internal representational standing | FROZEN | Representation of an internal orientation, embodied signal, or temporal state inside person-level governance. Does not create an independent person. | | telic projection | FROZEN | A scoped, attributable, correctable representation of part of a telic field for a particular relation or action. | | receiver mirror | FROZEN | A receiver's current interpretation of a projection or trace. It remains attributable to the receiver until confirmed or otherwise authorized. | | projection integrity | FROZEN | Adequacy of source, scope, evidence status, uncertainty, authority, and correction for the action a projection is asked to govern. | | telic integrity | FROZEN | Preservation of the legitimate reason, protected conditions, and authority for acting through transformation and time. | | semantic integrity | FROZEN | Action-relative preservation of material meaning, source relation, scope, uncertainty, standing, and correction through transformation. | | temporal integrity | FROZEN | Preservation of valid relations among history, authority, consent, state, consequence, succession, correction, and release. |

Relation and loop concepts

| Term | Status | Frozen definition or rule | |---|---|---| | dyad | QUALIFIED | Minimum analytic cut for distinct local standing, projection, interpretation, and relational consequence. Not a proven universal atom or isolated pair. | | relational telic field | PROVISIONAL | Emergent end-relative structure of a relation. It can create consequence before it creates legitimate authority. | | derived loop | FROZEN | A recurring organization whose operation or identity depends upon prior, lower, or outer loops. Derived does not mean unreal or inferior. | | higher loop / outer loop | FROZEN | A loop that contains, governs, funds, constrains, receives value from, or otherwise affects a local loop. Must not imply moral superiority. | | constitutional substrate | FROZEN | Material, semantic, relational, institutional, telic, and capacity conditions required for a loop to remain coherent without systematic standing loss or coercive compensation. | | telic compatibility | FROZEN | Ability of a form or loop to preserve intended purpose, standing, authority, correction, and substrate in a receiving field. | | telic incompatibility | FROZEN | Inability to sustain the intended loop without systematic coercion, drift, extraction, or substrate depletion. | | telic transplant failure | FROZEN | Failure of an imported form to establish the intended operative loop in a receiving field. | | constitutional substrate mismatch | FROZEN | Absence or incompatibility of governance, standing, capacity, or repair conditions required by a loop. | | teleological graft rejection | LINEAGE ONLY | Evocative origin metaphor. Avoid in technical or public claims where biological or cultural-purity readings may arise. | | constitutional fork | PROVISIONAL | Lineage-preserving separation of legitimately incompatible paths with explicit allocation of assets, records, standing, and obligations. | | dissolution | FROZEN | Governed end of a loop's recruitment and authority, including residual state, obligations, witness, and bounded aftercare. | | aftercare loop | PROVISIONAL | Narrow successor loop responsible for claims, archives, repair, monitoring, or residual duties after dissolution. |

Self and time

| Term | Status | Frozen definition or rule | |---|---|---| | constitutional self | FROZEN | Person-level governance model for several internal orientations, embodied signals, and temporal states under one sovereign person. Not a discovery of internal plurality and not a clinical diagnosis. | | person-level sovereignty | FROZEN | The person remains the primary constitutional unit over internal representations. No internal orientation or model becomes an independent sovereign by default. | | executive authority | FROZEN | Bounded capacity to select or perform action for the person or loop. Executive control is not identical to selfhood. | | internal consent | QUALIFIED | Adequate internal representation and non-erasure for person-level action; not literal contracting among separate persons and not unanimity. | | temporal standing | FROZEN | Requirement that temporally displaced states, successors, or future affected centers remain represented when current action materially constrains what they will inherit. | | temporary governor | QUALIFIED | Explanatory metaphor for present authority over conditions future states will inherit. Not a legal fiduciary classification. | | inherited authority | FROZEN | Authority carried from earlier decisions, consent, roles, or commitments, subject to scope, context, continuity, review, and release. | | versioned consent | FROZEN | Consent state preserved with scope, version, valid time, transaction time, revision, withdrawal, and downstream-use history. | | future possibility | FROZEN | Protected capacity for later states to choose or revise where current uncertainty and irreversibility make option preservation material. Not a duty to preserve every option. |

Context and semantic trail

| Term | Status | Frozen definition or rule | |---|---|---| | context carrying capacity | FROZEN | Active capacity of a loop to preserve relevant plurality, contradiction, provenance, uncertainty, and standing at the resolution required for legitimate next action. A profile, not a universal scalar. | | effective standing | FROZEN | Standing actively represented or reliably recoverable in the current decision context. Loss of effective standing does not erase constitutional standing. | | semantic trail | FROZEN | A persistent difference produced or preserved through prior activity that can become meaningful through later uptake and reorganize navigation among possibilities. | | semantic field | QUALIFIED | In this series only: the distributed, revisable ecology of traces, conventions, artifacts, relations, and interpretive practices through which prior distinctions become available to later navigation. Always include or link the scoped definition. | | semantic-trail ecology | PROVISIONAL | Preferred narrow alternative where semantic field would create disciplinary ambiguity. Recommended for public technical explanation. | | semantic durability | FROZEN | Persistence and potential reactivation of a trace. Does not imply integrity or legitimacy. | | semantic inheritance | FROZEN | Receipt of language, categories, records, institutions, and traces not created by the receiving center, with continuing rights of reinterpretation, correction, refusal, and release. | | semantic witness | FROZEN | Source and transformation lineage sufficient to inspect how a trace entered action. Does not prove truth or consent. | | semantic trajectory | FROZEN | Versioned sequence by which a source expression becomes extracted, normalized, summarized, retrieved, interpreted, and acted upon. | | semantic commons | FROZEN | Shared semantic resources governed through contribution, custody, access, attribution, correction, privacy, maintenance, and succession. Not unrestricted openness. | | semantic enclosure | PROVISIONAL | Asymmetric control over shared semantic resources that materially removes contributor standing, correction, portability, or viable exit. | | semantic pollution | QUALIFIED | Traces or amplification patterns that materially degrade legitimate orientation. Never use to classify dissent merely because it disrupts consensus. | | semantic sedimentation | LINEAGE ONLY / PROVISIONAL | Metaphor for training or institutional layering that compresses traces and loses direct source visibility. Use only with explanation. |

Navigation and decision

| Term | Status | Frozen definition or rule | |---|---|---| | polytely | FROZEN / ESTABLISHED | Presence or interaction of multiple goals or ends. | | polytelometry | PROVISIONAL | Disciplined effort to make relations among several ends, sources, authority, standing, consent, and consequences legible. Not a promise of one quantitative unit. | | polytelometric navigation | FROZEN FOR SERIES | Governance process for admitting, classifying, generating, testing, gating, selecting, witnessing, and revising routes among plural ends. Not a universal decision rule. | | field class | FROZEN | One of: shared, compatible, conditional, conflicting, protected, unresolved, missing-standing, or released. | | protected condition / protected field | FROZEN | Condition unavailable for ordinary tradeoff under current authority. Must carry source, scope, temporal validity, and review path. | | missing-standing field | FROZEN | A materially affected center or condition is not adequately represented. Do not encode as a zero weight. | | route | FROZEN | Candidate sequence of actions, conditions, cost bearers, gates, review, reversibility, exit, and residual state—not endpoint alone. | | cost-bearer map | FROZEN | Explicit representation of who bears direct cost, risk, labor, uncertainty, surveillance, opportunity loss, repair, lock-in, and residual harm. | | no-decision state | FROZEN | Explicit result such as defer, refuse, pause, narrow, escalate, fork, or declare no adequate route. It still carries consequences. | | representation fairness | PROVISIONAL | Quality of source recognition, minority preservation, correction opportunity, uncertainty visibility, and resistance to order or articulation bias. | | decision witness | FROZEN | Source, rule, route, dissent, authority, action, and consequence record sufficient for later review and repair. |

Model-mediated systems

| Term | Status | Frozen definition or rule | |---|---|---| | semantic polytelometry | PROVISIONAL / SERIES CORE | Governed architecture that maintains several partially expressed ends long enough for their owners to inspect, correct, coordinate, and navigate them. Not mind reading or a latent model property. | | semantic navigator | FROZEN FOR MODEL ROLE | Model or system that assists orientation among projections, trails, arguments, and routes without owning the field or decision. | | non-sovereign model | FROZEN | Model whose role, data access, tools, and authority remain external, scoped, inspectable, correctable, revocable, and contestable. | | model role | FROZEN | Declared function such as extract, structure, retrieve, compare, generate, challenge, mediate, recommend, witness, or execute. Role does not imply permission or authority. | | model constitution | FROZEN | Deployed rules and limits governing model behavior. Distinct from the specific Constitutional AI training method. | | provider teloi | FROZEN | Provider purposes materially shaping retention, moderation, routing, tool use, ranking, refusal, training, or monetization. Record operative disclosed purposes; do not speculate about hidden motives. | | constitutional retrieval | PROVISIONAL | Retrieval policy that prioritizes active boundaries, corrections, revocations, authority, protected conditions, dissent, and stop conditions in addition to relevance. | | participant recognition | FROZEN | Opportunity for a represented center to confirm, qualify, reject, restrict, or mark uncertainty in a model representation. | | false attunement | PROVISIONAL | Perceived recognition or independent support created by adaptive agreement, sycophancy, or stylistic fit without adequate source or evidence. | | model plurality | FROZEN DISTINCTION | Several model instances or agents. It never implies standing plurality by itself. | | human re-entry | FROZEN | Practical intervention with source access, semantic trajectory, time, competence, authority, and viable ability to pause, alter, reverse, or escalate an action. | | meaningful human control | QUALIFIED / ESTABLISHED | Use established term with source. Semantic legibility is necessary but not sufficient. |

---

Training governance

| Term | Status | Frozen definition or rule | |---|---|---| | training recruitment | FROZEN | Transfer of semantic, human, material, and institutional capacity into a model-development outer loop. | | training authority | FROZEN | Legal, contractual, individual, collective, community, public, fiduciary, or other legitimate basis governing a source's use in training. Consent is one authority class. | | consentfully trained model | PROVISIONAL | Qualified, auditable training-lineage profile. Never a binary badge and never a claim that every source used individual opt-in consent. | | source standing | FROZEN | Material source interests in privacy, attribution, benefit, community authority, confidentiality, correction, withdrawal, restriction, and harmful use. | | preference provenance | FROZEN | Population, recruitment, task, policy, alternatives, disagreement, aggregation, adjudication, protected objections, and gaps underlying preference training. | | restriction propagation | FROZEN | Preservation of license, consent, authority, community, privacy, withdrawal, and benefit obligations through collection, transformation, training, derivation, and succession. | | withdrawal ladder | FROZEN | Distinct states from collection stop and source deletion through future exclusion, retrieval blocking, approximate unlearning, retraining, and model retirement. | | unlearning | QUALIFIED / ESTABLISHED | Technical removal claim. Always state method, evaluation, threat model, retained utility, and residual uncertainty. Never use as synonym for source deletion. | | synthetic-data lineage | FROZEN | Generator, version, source lineage, policy, filtering, proportion, recursive depth, and contamination/diversity evaluation for generated training data. | | benefit governance | FROZEN | Rules for attribution, compensation, shared infrastructure, public or collective benefit, governance rights, and dispute. Benefit does not purchase unlimited authority. | | training/operation separation | FROZEN INVARIANT | Training-lineage legitimacy and deployment legitimacy are separate profiles; neither substitutes for the other. |
