Telic Fields Working Glossary and Claim Register

Inline summary

This document records the vocabulary that emerged during the origin conversation on attractors, teleology, telic fields, constitutional selves, context, time, and semantic polytelometry.

Its primary purpose is to prevent three forms of drift:

1. terminological drift — a term changes meaning as it travels;
2. lineage drift — later formulations are projected backward into earlier work;
3. confidence drift — a coherent hypothesis begins to sound like an established fact.

The definitions below are therefore marked as provisional, inherited, extended, candidate-coined, metaphorical, structural, ethical, or technical where appropriate.

The governing rule is:

Inherited term

A term already established in philosophy, science, psychology, engineering, linguistics, law, or another field.

Its use here may still be specialized.

Extended term
